July 9, 2015

Resist supports frontline grassroots organizations at the forefront of the movement for social justice. We seek a passionate and creative visionary who, as Co-Director of Grants, will join our staff collective in our mission to support radical grassroots groups.

About the Co-Director of Grants

Resist has two Co-Directors of Grants who oversee Resist’s grantmaking activities. The position for which we are currently hiring includes working with all applicants from the western region of the United States, processing and screening their applications and helping guide the grant evaluation process, which occurs six times a year. This Co-Director collaborates with the other Co-Director of Grants in charge of the eastern part of the United States, helping revise grants programs as needed, developing new projects as Resist evolves, and conducting outreach to potential applicants.

Resist strives to be a non-hierarchical organization and operates as a collective. All staff members sit on the Board of Directors (along with a majority of non-staff members), jointly work on various projects, and share office tasks.

About Resist

Founded in support of military draft resistance in 1967, Resist has always tried to be a different type of foundation. Today we continue to support scores of the most exciting frontline-led grassroots groups across the United States that mobilize, utilize direct actiion, and work on a variety of issues and the intersections that link them. Issues include climate justice, economic justice, racial justice, reproductive justice, immigrant justice, LGBTQI justice, housing rights, police accountability, prisoners’ rights/prison abolition, and peace.
